UK Horse Welfare

ILPH Vet Andy Williamson
In the United Kingdom the ILPH runs 4 Recovery and Rehabilitation Centres.

When a horse is brought into one of our Centres, our team of experts assess each case individually in order to diagnose any problems, and then set about providing the best possible care to bring each horse back to health.

Our dedicated and knowledgeable team of grooms work extremely hard together with our expert vets, farriers, physiotherapists and other professionals throughout the rehabilitation process to ensure that each horse has the best possible chance of returning to a full and active life.

Once ready to be re-homed, our Centres work closely with the local Field Officer to ensure that each horse is matched to a suitable loan home.

The ILPH retains ownership of every horse, thereby ensuring its welfare for the rest of its life.

There are currently nearly 2000 ILPH horses in private homes through the ILPH Horse Loan scheme.
