The people of Lesotho take
great pride in their horses and use them to get from one village to
another, pulling ploughs and for tourist pony-trekking. But at the
moment they lack the skills to care for their animals. No one, not
least the people of Lesotho, wants to see horses suffer in pain.
This is where Mission Lesotho comes in. Over five years, the ILPH
team of master farriers and master saddlers will pass on their
knowledge to apprentices, who in turn will pass on their newly found
skills to more people in their communities.
Mission Lesotho will cost us £84,000 for the first year of training
– a place for each of the apprentices will cost £4,000. As a
charity, we will depend upon the support of horse lovers to help us
fund this vital project. |
