ILPH Easy Guide to RSS Feeds

What is RSS?
RSS is a format for delivering regularly updated changing web content straight to your computer, including news alerts and podcasts.

RSS or "Really Simple Syndication" allows you to easily stay informed with the latest news from the ILPH, without having to remember to visit the site every day.

You can also receive updates when we release new Video News Items onto the ILPH web site.

How do I receive RSS Feeds?
In order to read RSS you will require a "news reader". This is a piece of software that checks RSS feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added to them. In a similar way that an Email program such as Outlook lets you read new Emails.

Once you have chosen a reader, you can then choose what content you would like to receive by finding and subscribing to the relevant RSS feed.

For example if you would like to subscribe to the ILPH's RSS Feed you can by clicking the RSS button on the left hand side of the page, then you can drag the URL into your News Reader, or cut and paste it in.

Some internet browsers, such as Firefox, Opera and the new Internet Explorer 7 will automatically check web pages for relevant RSS feeds and display an icon when there is one.
