Financial Reports

ILPH Financial Reports - 2007

Total income for 2007 was £7.0m compared with £8.6m in 2006, a fall of 18%. In 2006 we received record legacy income of £5.7m whilst in 2007 the figure was £4.0m. We had hoped to be able to report the successful sale of the old Glenda Spooner Farm in Hereford but the sale was not completed until January 2008.

Charitable expenditure increased by 17%, carrying on from the 12% increase in 2006. There were increases in most areas of activity, most dramatically in our International Training work where we ran course in six countries – South Africa, Lesotho, Romania, The Gambia, Mexico and Guatemala.

Looking ahead our focus is on two projects, providing visitor facilities and indoor school to the new Glenda Spooner Farm and to Belwade Farm. These projects represent a major investment in horse welfare and we hope to start work later in 2008. As ever all this work costs money and we are most grateful to all those who help to make it possible.
